Crews

:::info On the roadmap Crews are a planned feature. This page describes where they're headed so the idea is public and open to feedback — details may change before it ships. See the Roadmap. :::

A crew is a group of Mains that sticks together — a band, a friend group, a local chapter, a team. Crews grow naturally out of vibes: the people you keep gathering with become a thing with a name.

The idea, in plain terms:

  • A crew has members and a name, chosen by whoever creates it.
  • A crew can create together — the moments and gatherings a crew makes belong to the crew, not to one person.
  • A crew can share what it earns. When appreciation flows to something the crew made, it can be split fairly among the members.
  • Big decisions need agreement. Changing who's in a crew or how it splits what it earns requires sign-off from the members — no single person can quietly rewrite the deal.

Crews are how Main's World grows from "me sharing a moment" to "us building something together," while keeping the same rule that governs everything here: no one can ever route value to themselves, and appreciation between real people is the only thing of worth.

The money side of crews (shared wallets, paid gatherings) is deliberately careful and will only ship under a reviewed design — see The economy.
