Roadmap

Here's where Main's World is going. These are directions, not dated promises — plans evolve as we learn and as the community weighs in. We keep this page honest about what's live versus what's still ahead.

Vibes, in full

Live vibes work today, and so does planning one ahead — with a start, an end, and a place, and RSVPs before it begins (see Vibes). The agenda groups nearby and global gatherings by when they happen, shows when your Mains are going, and lets people who are in a planned vibe prepare a private calendar entry. When a vibe ends, the people who were there decide which of their moments leave, and it leaves a 30-day recap reel behind.

What's still ahead:

  • Invite beyond your Mains. Hold a spot for someone who hasn't joined Main's World yet.

SPACE and connections to other apps

The connected-app direction is settled; the new map controls are not live. SPACE is Main's World's fourth client-facing world for authorized content from external apps, not a new privacy setting. The current SPACE experience remains the place to review and manage apps, and authorized app moments can appear on the Earth map under SKY, LAND, or DEEP.

The first fixed four-world rail, SPACE/EARTH switcher, and nested visibility tree were rolled back on August 29, 2026 after live mobile review. A smaller, more focused mobile and desktop presentation is now being designed. Until that ships, the map uses its earlier controls and no page should describe the four-world filter hierarchy as live.

RunPal, a running app, is the first — and it is live. Once connected, a finished run arrives as a moment with its route drawn on the map, so something you did somewhere else lands on your map without you retelling it. Nothing arrives unless you connect RunPal yourself, and you decide which world its moments land in — public SKY, your connections on LAND, or private DEEP. LAND is the starting point, so an imported moment is shared with the people you've connected with rather than with everyone. As with anything you post, the first time a run comes across it costs one energy credit — the daily fuel explained in The economy — and later updates to that same run are free. Disconnecting stops anything new arriving, and the moments already on your map stay yours.

More apps are planned. The list is worth arguing about — if there's one you want, say so via Contribute.

Future exploration: gatherings without a place

Not live. A future expansion could use SPACE for virtual gatherings that are not tied to a physical point, with social relationships taking the place of distance. That idea still needs its own audience, moderation, lifecycle, and map design. It is not part of today's connected-app SPACE and would not silently replace SKY, LAND, or DEEP as the privacy model.

Crews

Basic crews are live: create one, invite people, join, and bail. Shared ownership, crew wallets, and member-approved earnings splits are still ahead.

Light mode

Not live. The app is dark on every phone today. A light mode was briefly available and was taken back out, because on real phones in real light too many screens were harder to read than the dark ones they replaced. It is being worked on again, and it will come back when it is genuinely better to look at rather than merely available. There is no date.
